Heather & Matt's Rainy Day Engagement Session with Ferrazzani Photography- Worcester, Massachusetts

The forecast called for rain, and while some might have groaned, Heather and Matt embraced it with open arms – and a deck of cards! As a Boston-based photographer, I often travel throughout Massachusetts for sessions, and this one brought me to the charming city of West Boylston- Just outside of Worcester for their engagement session. Little did we know, the weather would add an extra layer of magic to their already special day.

Heather had mentioned in her questionnaire that she and Matt loved playing games, a detail I tucked away. Knowing our location – the unique old stone church provided shelter from the downpours. Earlier in the day, I texted Heather with a playful question about their favorite games. To my delight, they arrived armed with cards, ready for some indoor fun!

The sound of rain drumming on the stone roof created a cozy and intimate atmosphere as Heather, Matt, and I played card games by the soft, diffused light filtering through the rainy sky. It was a wonderful way to break the ice and capture some genuine, joyful moments before we even started taking "official" photos. These candid shots inside the West Boylston church are some of my absolute favorites – a testament to their playful connection and willingness to embrace the unexpected.

Even though the rain was pouring, Heather and Matt were eager to recreate their own "Notebook" moment. And they certainly did! They braved the still-pouring rain, their laughter echoing through the  landscape as they held each other close. These images are raw, emotional, and beautifully capture their adventurous spirits.

Just when I thought the session couldn't get any more fun, an impromptu umbrella sword fight broke out! This quickly escalated into a hilarious lightsaber battle, complete with dramatic poses and infectious energy. It was the perfect, playful ending to a truly memorable engagement session.

Heather and Matt, thank you for trusting me to capture your love story, rain and all! Your willingness to embrace the unexpected and your joyful spirits made this session an absolute blast. I can't wait to photograph your wedding!
