First Look

THE MAGIC OF THE FIRST LOOK

Thinking about a First Look? It’s an intimate moment where you and your partner can see each other before the ceremony, capturing raw emotions and stunning portraits. This helps free up time for a relaxed, stress-free cocktail hour!

PROS OF A FIRST LOOK:

✔ Eases wedding day nerves by having a private moment together

✔ Allows for more flexibility in your wedding timeline

✔ More time for couple portraits and family formals before the ceremony

✔ Enjoy your cocktail hour with guests instead of being busy with photos

✔ Ensures great lighting for portraits, especially for late-afternoon ceremonies

CONS OF A FIRST LOOK:

✖ Breaks tradition if you prefer seeing each other for the first time at the aisle

✖ Requires getting ready earlier in the day

✖ Can feel less spontaneous compared to the traditional ceremony reveal

Ultimately, whether or not to do a First Look is a personal choice—I'm here to help you plan your timeline in a way that makes your day perfect for you!

FAQ

When Do I Have To Pay you?

I require a 30% non-refundable retainer at the time of booking to secure your date. This retainer serves multiple purposes:
1. Date Reservation: Once your date is booked, I commit to being available exclusively for your event, turning down other potential clients for that day.
2. Preparation Costs: The retainer helps cover initial expenses such as travel arrangements and equipment rentals necessary to prepare for your session.

The non-refundable nature of the retainer ensures that both parties are committed to the agreed-upon date and compensates for potential losses from last-minute cancellations. This policy is standard practice in the photography industry to account for the time and resources dedicated to each client.

The remaining balance is due within 24 hours of your event]. This structure allows for a clear and organized payment schedule, ensuring all financial matters are settled well in advance of your special day.

If you have any questions or need further clarification regarding the payment schedule or retainer policy, please feel free to reach out.

DO YOU REFUND DEPOSITS ON CANCELATIONS?

I understand that unforeseen circumstances can impact event plans. As per our policy, the 30% non-refundable retainer secures your date and covers initial preparations. In the event of a cancellation, this retainer is typically non-refundable.

However, during exceptional situations like the COVID-19 pandemic, I have offered clients the option to apply their retainer as a credit towards a future session. This approach acknowledges the unprecedented nature of such events while maintaining the integrity of our booking commitments.

Please note that this policy is subject to the specific circumstances of each case.

WHEN WILL WE RECEIVE OUR PHOTOS?

You can expect to receive your complete wedding photo gallery within 8 to 12 weeks after your wedding day. This timeframe allows for meticulous culling and editing to ensure each image reflects the beauty and emotion of your special day.

I understand the excitement to relive your wedding moments, so I strive to deliver your photos as promptly as possible without compromising on quality. Please note that during peak wedding seasons, delivery times may extend slightly due to a higher volume of work.

If you have any questions or need updates during the editing process, feel free to reach out.

Can you hold a date for me without a deposit?

I understand your interest in securing a date without an initial deposit. However, to ensure a firm commitment and to cover initial preparations, I require a 30% non-refundable retainer at the time of booking. This policy helps manage my schedule effectively and accommodates all clients fairly.

Without this retainer, I cannot guarantee the availability of your desired date, as it remains open for other inquiries. This approach is standard practice among photographers to prevent potential losses from last-minute cancellations and to ensure dedicated service to each client.

If you have any concerns or need further clarification regarding this policy, please feel free to discuss them with me.

Are you insured?

Yes, I am fully insured to protect both your event and my business. This coverage includes general liability insurance, which safeguards against potential accidents or damages during your wedding. Additionally, I have equipment insurance to cover any unforeseen issues with my gear.

Having comprehensive insurance is standard practice among professional photographers to ensure peace of mind for both clients and service providers. It demonstrates a commitment to professionalism and preparedness for unexpected situations.

What if you get sick or go on family leave?

I understand the importance of having a reliable photographer for your wedding day. In the unlikely event that I am unable to attend your wedding due to illness, family emergencies, or other unforeseen circumstances, I have established contingency plans to ensure your photography needs are met.

Backup Photographer Arrangements

I maintain a network of trusted professional photographers with similar styles and experience. If I am unable to attend, I will coordinate with one of these colleagues to cover your event, ensuring continuity and quality. This arrangement is detailed in my contract to provide clarity and peace of mind.

Client Options

If a replacement photographer is arranged, you have the option to accept the substitute or request a refund. This policy is designed to offer flexibility and accommodate your preferences.
